During the 2024 本科研究 and Engagement 研讨会 the following awards were presented and recognized during a ceremony that celebrated a variety of students, 教师, 以及社区伙伴. They participated in the high impact learning programs across 芝加哥十大彩票网赌.

社区参与奖

芝加哥十大彩票网赌和参与式学习教学中心, & Scholarship awards 社区参与奖 to undergraduate students or group of students who participated in either a 的服务培训 or 学术实习 参与学习 course during the 2023-2024 academic year. Student who are good candidates for this award would have demonstrated some of the following during their engaged learning courses:

  • 他们在工作中致力于社会正义
  • 通过他们的参与对社区机构产生持久的影响
  • 表现出对环境或当地社区的深切关注

教师, 工作人员, and community organization representatives are asked to submit nominations for those students or group of students. These awards will be announced during the 本科研究 and Engagement 研讨会 (URES) 奖 Ceremony on April 20, 2024. 学生将获得500美元的奖励. 提名表格现已截止.

社区伙伴奖

The 罗耀拉大学 社区伙伴奖 for Coeducation is given to a non-profit community organization who hosted one or more undergraduate 参与学习 students since spring 2023 and who best exemplifies the role of a community partner who co-educates and supports our Loyola students. 作为共同教育者, the partner creates space for learning through collaboration with their organization.

The 社区伙伴奖 for Coeducation exists to recognize and celebrate partner organizations who not only are doing great work for their community, but are also undertaking additional effort to serve as partners in education working with Loyola students at their organization.

教师, 工作人员, and community organization representatives (self-nominations are welcome) are asked to submit nominations, 11月27日开幕, 2023. These awards will be announced during the 本科研究 and Engagement 研讨会 (URES) 奖 Ceremony on April 20, 2024.

学习作品集奖项

A learning portfolio (ePortfolio) is a digital collection that demonstrates a student’s work over time, 特色技能, 能力, 值, 经验与思考. The Learning Portfolio Award will be given to a students who cultivated and curated a portfolio throughout a program or academic course at 芝加哥十大彩票网赌. 学生, 教师, and 工作人员 submit nominations for students who created learning portfolios in Spring 2023, 2023年夏天, 2023年秋季, 或2024年春季.

Each portfolio will be reviewed and evaluated based on the four learning outcomes below.

  1. 通过反思从经验中综合学习, applying outside the classroom learning with inside the classroom learning.
  2. 批判性地反思知识分子, 个人, 专业, and civic learning within the context of the student experience at Loyola.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and 值 acquired through reflecting on their experiences.
  4. Articulate connections to Social Justice and the Jesuit Mission of Loyola

The Graduate Student Mentor award has been established to recognize and reward the exceptional work of Loyola's graduate student mentors in the area of mentoring undergraduate researchers. 被提名者必须是当前洛约拉研究生. 提名只能来自在校本科生.

The 杰出本科生研究奖 has been established to honor Loyola undergraduates who conduct exceptional research, 向他人阐明他们的研究, and enhance Loyola’s reputation as a quality research university by integrating research into their academic learning experience. Nominees must be Loyola undergraduates who conducted research during the 2023-2024 academic year. 多名获胜者将获得500美元.

Adolfo Nicolas SJ杰出参与学习和教学奖

This award recognizes an instructor who brings imagination and dedication to an 参与学习 course in the spirit of former Superior of the Jesuits Adolfo Nicolas SJ's quote "Depth of thought and imagination in the Ignatian tradition involves a profound engagement with the real, 拒绝放手,直到一个人深入到表面之下." 

  • The instructor must have taught an 参与学习 course during the previous or current school year. 参与式学习类别包括:
    • 学术实习
    • 公开演出
    • 实地考察
    • 的服务培训
    • 本科研究
  • Award nominees will have shown excellence in incorporating and centering the 参与学习 experiences in the curriculum and leveraging it to impact student learning.

  • Nominations can be submitted by students, 工作人员, community partners, or 教师 colleagues. 没有自我提名. 提名表格现已截止 and the winner will be announced at the 本科研究 and Engagement 研讨会.
